Yaba College of Technology also known as Yaba Tech was ranked as the best Polytechnic in Nigeria by Webometric in 2021. It is the first polytechnic to be established in Nigeria and offers both National Diploma and Higher National Diploma programmes

1. IS YABA TECH A POLYTECHNIC?

Yes, Yaba Tech is Polytechnic. Yaba Tech awards both National and Higher National Diploma and in the year 2021, was ranked as the best polytechnic in Nigeria by Webometric. Won’t you rather be a student of the best polytechnic in Nigeria?

2. IS YABA TECH A UNIVERSITY?

No, Yaba Tech is not a University. People confuse Yaba Tech which is an extraordinary polytechnic to be a University. Yaba awards B.sc and does degree programmes in Technical and Vocational education. This is done in affiliation with the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN). They also offer Post-Graduate Diploma in Engineering in partnership with the Federal University of akure. 

3. WHERE IS YABA TECH LOCATED?

Yaba College of Technology is located at Herbert Macaulay Road, Opposite WAEC office, Yaba, Lagos, Nigeria.

4. WILL YABA TECH ACCEPT 3RD CHOICE?

Yaba Tech does not accept 3rd choice candidates. You will have to choose Yaba College of Technology as your First Choice Institution before you will be considered for admission.

5. WILL YABA TECH ACCEPT 2ND CHOICE?

Yaba College of Technology do not accept 2nd choice candidates. The institution has more students choosing them than they can admit hence you must choose them as your First Choice Institution to be considered for admission.

6. CAN I ENTER YABA TECH WITHOUT JAMB?

Candidates who want to study full time must possess 5 O’level credits including English and Maths and should get above 180 in UTME / JAMB to be considered for admission.
Candidates who want to do a part-time programme do not need JAMB to enter Yaba Tech but must possess 5 O’level credit passes including English and Maths, must be 18 years of age at least and should buy Yaba College of Technology part-time admission form.
In summary, full-time students need JAMB while part-time students do not need JAMB.

7. YABATECH AND LASPOTECH WHICH IS BETTER

Some people have been asking how good is Yabatech without realizing that Yaba Tech is the best polytechnic in Nigeria in 2021. So to answer the question of which polytechnic is better between Yabatech and laspotech, Yaba Tech of course is better than Laspotech.
